Hyderabad: Tourism Malaysia has launched its most extensive roadshow mission in Hyderabad, aimed at attracting more number of Indian travelers.

The road show is being conducted till February 7, targeting three key cities—Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kochi in India.

The high-profile Sales Mission will feature a delegation of 62 Malaysian sellers, focusing on strengthening opportunities in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) sector, wedding tourism and leisure travel with a special emphasis on South India.

India remains a critical market for Malaysia’s tourism industry, with a record one million Indian visitors in 2024, over 50 per cent of whom traveled from Southern India.

Robust connectivity plays a crucial role in this growth, with 151 weekly flights and a total seat capacity of 26,686 per week between Southern India and Malaysia.

Leading the mission, Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, highlighted Malaysia’s commitment to the Indian market.

“India has been a key market for over 20 years, and with the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026), we are targeting 1.6 million Indian travelers. Southern India, with its excellent flight connectivity, is a major focus in our expansion strategy,” he said.
